In July 2024 I visited the Mâconnais wine region in the south of Bourgogne (Burgundy), France. It’s an underrated region – this is home to Chardonnay, plus a bit of Pinot Noir and Gamay, as well as some Aligoté. In the past the economics meant it wasn’t worth making serious wine here, but the soils and climate favour fine wine production when the intention is there. This film tries to capture the flavour of the vineyards, accompanied by my guitar music.
